Navarathri Celebration 2026 at ELC

A Celebration of Devotion, Culture and Tradition

Navarathri is a significant Hindu festival celebrated over nine nights to honour Goddess Durga and the divine feminine power. The festival symbolises the victory of good over evil and reminds us of the importance of knowledge, devotion, courage and positivity. It also provides an opportunity to pass on our rich cultural heritage and traditional values to the younger generation.

Celebration at ELC

ELC celebrated Navarathri with great devotion and enthusiasm for five days, from 12 October to 16 October 2026. The celebration brought together students and teachers to honour the festival through traditional poojas and cultural performances.

The celebration began on Monday, 12 October, with the pooja conducted by Class 5. On Tuseday , Class 4 conducted the pooja, followed by Class 3 on Wednesday, 14 October. On Thursday, 15 October, students of Classes 1 and 2 conducted the pooja, continuing the spirit of devotion and togetherness.

The final day of the celebration was observed on Friday, 16 October, by the KG Section. A special pooja was conducted by our respected Principal, Mrs. Smitha P. Krishnan, along with our Administrator, Mr. Narayana Swamy. The programme was enriched by melodious traditional songs and delightful traditional dance performances by the children.

The celebration provided a meaningful opportunity for students to learn about the significance of Navarathri, appreciate Indian traditions and develop a sense of respect for our cultural heritage.

The five-day celebration concluded on a joyful and devotional note, leaving everyone with beautiful memories of togetherness, tradition and festivity.
