On *7 November 2025* , the AWACH Auditorium came alive with rhythm and devotion as Ahalia Public School, in collaboration with SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth), hosted a mesmerizing cultural programme featuring the renowned Shri Mayanglambam Sobhamani Singh and his ensemble in the enthralling Pung Cholom performance. The event began with a warm welcome by Ms. Devika of Class XI Humanities, followed by the dignified presence of Mr. Unni Krishnan from SPIC MACAY Kerala Chapter, Principal Ms. Smitha P. Krishnan, and Academic Coordinator Mr. Raju. The highlight of the day was the captivating Manipuri drum dance, where synchronized movements, acrobatic grace, and the spiritual resonance of the traditional Pung drum created an atmosphere of reverence and inspiration. Shri Sobhamani Singh, recipient of the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, along with his team, showcased the sacred art of Nata Sankirtana, merging rhythm and movement into a divine offering. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Jerome Joy James of Class XI Computer Science, who expressed gratitude to the performers, SPIC MACAY, the school management, and the AWACH Auditorium administration. More than a performance, the session was a soulful journey into India’s living traditions, leaving the audience deeply moved and reaffirming Ahalia Public School’s commitment to holistic education enriched by cultural heritage.
